French 8
In grade 8, all students are required to take French. Students will learn about letter pattern and tenses. These include past, present, and future tenses. This subject grade also teachs students how to describe items and everyday objects. In grade 8, the French subject begins to explore the French communities in Canada and around the world.
French 9
In grade 9, the French subject revolves around the elements of French stories and the types of text. This grade level of French also explores the words for the sequences of events. Culture is a large part of the grade 9 French subject, with this grade level exploring deeper into the culture of francophone (French speaking communities) communities.
French 10
In grade 10 French, students will learn about questions that are often used in the French language. The grade 10 French subject also shows the expression of liking and disliking a certain object, and it also teaches about how to talk about the students dreams. Additionally, grade 10 French teaches students about different elements of a story, such as plot, setting, and characters.

In grade 11 French, students will learn about how to express their personal opinions, predictions about the future, and opinions. In addition to this, students will learn how to compare and contrast two different opinions while also learning about idiomatic expressions and language etiquette.
French 12
In grade 12 French, students will learn about how to express their wishes and doubts about an event. Students will also learn about hypothetical situations and possibilities. Additionally, students will learn about needs, emotions, and opinions.
